Speed Sailing in its purest form is a contest against time and with nature.
Thanks to the Australian Simon Mc Keon and his high-tech vessel Yellow Pages Endeavour, the Speed Sailing Record over the distance of 500m was one of the hardest to break records for the past 12 years, until Finian Maynard set a new mark with his fantastic speed of 48.70 knots on the 10.04.2005 on the canal in St. Maries de la Mer.
Now the chase is open to break this record again and go for the elusive 50 knots barrier, which is the magical number in Speed Sailing all around the world.
The top windsurfers of the world are expected to compete at this record attempt. They will be accompanied by several national champions and record holders also going for new national best speeds.
