Réunion, a french overseas Department is situated on a submarine plateau in the Indian ocean. The Island is a natural paradise; volcanos, ravines, waterfalls, rain-and mistforests, lagoons, coralreefs,... the food's killer, the weather's perfect,...
but above all, this Archipel gets consistent spoilt with surf!

This tropical island provides mainly reef breaks with worldwide famous breaks like St Leu. But even beginners can find spots on the rare beach breaks. Water temperatures are 24 to 30. The East coast has heavy rainfall. There's no lagoon. It's a rocky coastline. The West coast is completely different with lower rainfall. This coast has the best spots. You'll find reef spots here because of the lagoon.November to April: Summer (hot and humid). It's the typhoon season.May to October: Winter (cool and dry). It's the best time for surf.
Too bad I had this stupid little accident and couldn't surf that much. (Guess there must have been a reason for that...) However, even with crutches I had a great time and enjoyed my three weeks of vacation. Also cause of all the great people we've met there.
The variety of the skin colors, the spirit and this incredible kindness of the population is just awesome and made this trip unforgetable.
