Caribbean ? Day 6

22.05.2005
Day 6 summary: The future of windsurfing is looking bright
On the first day of the weekend, conditions were sufficient for the continuation of the first ever Starboard Pro Kids championships. It was an all Bonairian party as local talents won in all age categories. Bjorn Saragoza claimed the crown in the 12-13 age group, while Kiri Thode (NB-61, Starboard/Gaastra) successfully fought off the competition in the 14-15 category with his Gecko variations and a light wind voquech.

Choco Frans (NB-6, F2) was too strong for the other riders in the 16-17 group, while Christopher Bernabela took first place in the men?s amateur division. Whitney Rudolf pulled off some unique moves, displaying that windsurfing truly is second nature to him by juggling and reading a book while sailing. Pictures of today?s Pro Kids championships are online on PWA WORLDTOUR in the 2005 Bonaire King of the Caribbean photo gallery.

While winds weren?t strong enough to allow any competition for the world?s freestyle elite, Brazilian rising star Marcilio ?Browzinho ? Browne (BRA-105, Naish/Naish) reports on life on the tour and explains what makes him tick. The interview can be found in the day 5 news section.
