Arnon Dagan from Israel wins the 29th Engadin Surfmarathon and the Euro Cup Formula Racing - Ross Williams from Great Britain on the 1st place at the Euro Cup Slalom
The 29th Engadin Surfmarathon could be accomplished under good meteorological conditions. 100 participants from all over the world were competing. The race was extremely thrilling because the Marathon was at the same time also race number 8 of the Euro Cup Formula Racing. It was a hard fight between the two leading riders Ross Williams (GBR) and Arnon Dagan (ISR).
The Israeli could prevail the duel and was as well the winner of the Engadin Surfmarathon as of the Euro Cup Formula Racing. Ross Williams ended for both competitions on the second place, in front of Gonzalo Costa Hoevel (ARG). Best Swiss is Richard Stauffacher from Wangs on place 6.
There were no more races beside the Engadiner Surfmarathon because the wind was not strong enough to accomplish some more Slalom elimination. That's why the results of yesterday's elimination one are at the same time the final result. Winner is Ross Williams (GBR) in front of Arnon Dagan (ISR) and Adriaan von Rissijelberghe (NED).
Best Swiss was Richard Stauffacher on the 5th place. The acting world champion – Finian Maynard from the British Virgin Islands – had consequently no chance to rectify his mistake of yesterday's final 1. He ended on the 4th place of the Euro Cup Slalom at STIMOROL Engadinwind. The organisation, the sponsors and the participants were enjoying this beautiful windsurfing day in Silvaplana.
The highlight – the 29th Engadin Surfmarathon – was a big succes. Before they are now focusing on the next year's anniversary, there are two more regattas tomorrow. The Juniors Race and the Swiss Windsurfing Slalom will build the closure of the STIMOROL Engadinwind 2006.
