| 30 minutes into theis session I got knocked off going out trying to get over a whitewater. The as I let go of the boom, the fin hit my armpit. It hurt but as my wetsuit was not cut I thought I must only have bruize. I sailed for another hour, then the wind went offshore and it took 20 minutes to swim my gear back to shore. As I took off my wetsuit I saw globules of felsh in my armpit hair. I went straight to the emergency ward and got 9 stiches for my troubles. The doctor said I was very luck not to severe a main artery. I would have bleed to death before I made it back to the shore. Feaky accident aye?
The attached photo is 2 days later when it is starting to heal nicely. It loooked so much worse before the stiches! |
